Specify the NetBIOS Name Cache Timeout Period (Windows 95/98/Me) Category: Home > Network > Protocols
This setting specifies the period that NetBIOS names are cached before requiring an additional name query. Open your registry and find the key below. Create a new string value (or DWORD for Windows 95) called "CacheTimeout" and set it to equal the number of milliseconds to cache NetBIOS names (minimum 60,000 - 1 minute). Restart Windows for the change to take effect.
